CBC with NLR (Neutrophil to Lymphocyte Ratio)

The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is the absolute neutrophil count divided by the absolute lymphocyte count from a routine complete blood count. It’s a simple marker of systemic inflammation and immune balance; higher NLR values often predict worse outcomes in infections, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. Normal ranges vary (commonly about 1–3), and interpretation requires clinical context and serial measurements.

Interpret NLR with symptoms, other blood tests and clinical context. If your NLR is abnormal, persistent, rising, or you have worrying symptoms or chronic disease, discuss it with your clinician for further evaluation and follow-up testing.
