Thyroid Test: TSH, T3 & T4 Normal Range Explained Simply
A thyroid test is a blood test that checks whether the thyroid gland, a small gland at the front of the neck, is producing hormones within the expected range. The thyroid does not operate independently. It receives instructions from the pituitary gland in the brain. When thyroid hormone levels in the blood drop, the pituitary releases TSH, thyroid-stimulating hormone, to push the thyroid to produce more. When levels are sufficient, TSH production pulls back. The system continuously self-regulates based on what the blood shows.

HDL Cholesterol: Normal Range, What Low HDL Means & How to Increase It
HDL, high-density lipoprotein, is the form of cholesterol the body uses to clear excess fat from the bloodstream and transport it back to the liver for disposal or recycling. This process, called reverse cholesterol transport, is the core reason HDL is associated with lower cardiovascular risk. A higher HDL level means more of this clearing capacity is available.
