An X‑ray LS spine AP LAT is a two‑view radiograph of the lumbosacral (lower) spine: anteroposterior (AP) and lateral (side) images. It noninvasively evaluates vertebral alignment, fractures, degenerative changes, disc‑space narrowing, spondylolisthesis, scoliosis, infection, or bony tumors. The exam is quick, uses low‑dose ionizing radiation; remove metal items and discuss if you are pregnant.

AP (anteroposterior) view: X‑ray beam passes from the front (anterior) to the back (posterior) of the body; often used when a patient cannot stand and may magnify anterior structures. Lateral view: beam passes from one side to the other, creating a side‑profile image that helps localize lesions, assess depth, and separate overlapping structures.

A lateral spine X-ray is a side-view radiograph that images the vertebral bodies, intervertebral disc spaces, and spinal alignment in profile. It highlights vertebral fractures, disc narrowing, spondylolisthesis, and abnormal curvatures (kyphosis/lordosis), and helps assess spinal canal space and soft-tissue shadows. The patient stands or lies with the side against the detector while the beam passes through.

Lumbosacral AP lateral is a plain X‑ray exam of the lower spine that obtains anteroposterior (AP) and lateral views of the lumbosacral junction. It assesses vertebral alignment, disc space narrowing, fractures, degenerative changes and spondylolisthesis. Often used as first-line imaging for low back pain or trauma, it helps determine if further studies like MRI are needed.

LS spine problem refers to disorders of the lumbosacral spine (lower back and top of the pelvis), such as degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis or facet joint arthritis. Symptoms include low back, buttock or leg pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness. Causes include age, injury or poor posture. Treatment ranges from rest, analgesics, physiotherapy and exercise to injections or surgery for severe cases.

For most X‑rays you’ll be asked to remove clothing, jewelry and metal that could obscure the image and to wear a gown. Underwear can usually stay unless it covers the imaged area. Tell staff if you’re pregnant. Technologists will instruct what must be removed and provide protective shielding when needed. Some routine X‑rays (e.g., limb) may not require removal.
