A positive Doppler ultrasound means abnormal blood flow was detected in the tested vessel—common findings include a clot (venous thrombosis), significant narrowing or blockage, or reduced/absent flow to a limb or fetus. It requires immediate clinical follow‑up: additional imaging, blood tests, anticoagulation or vascular treatment, or obstetric monitoring/intervention depending on the site and severity.

Costs vary by country and setting. In the US a thyroid ultrasound typically costs about $100–$1,000 (lower with cash discounts; higher in hospitals). In the UK it’s free through public healthcare after GP referral; private scans run about £70–£250. In India private clinic prices are around ₹500–₹3,000.
