Contrast-enhanced MRI is the imaging modality of choice for the nasopharynx because it gives superior soft-tissue contrast and delineates tumor extent, perineural spread, and skull-base involvement. Contrast CT is complementary for assessing bony erosion and calcification. Flexible nasoendoscopy provides direct visualization and enables targeted biopsy when mucosal lesions are suspected; choice depends on the clinical question.

Early signs of nasopharynx problems include persistent nasal congestion or blockage, frequent or blood‑tinged nasal discharge or nosebleeds, reduced sense of smell, unilateral ear symptoms (fullness, hearing loss, tinnitus, recurrent middle‑ear fluid), persistent sore throat or hoarseness, and unexplained neck lumps (swollen lymph nodes). Seek medical evaluation if symptoms persist or worsen.
