CD3 (Pan T Cell Marker)

Yes. CD3 is considered a pan–T‑cell marker: it forms part of the T‑cell receptor/CD3 complex and is expressed on virtually all mature T lymphocytes (CD4+, CD8+, γδ). It is absent on B cells and NK cells. Some immature thymocytes or activated T cells may show variable or intracellular expression, but CD3 is widely used to identify T cells clinically and in research.

A pan‑T cell marker is a molecule expressed on essentially all T lymphocytes (for example, CD3) used to identify and quantify total T‑cell populations in blood and tissue. Expression decreases after activation and on effector memory T cells; shedding indicates activation. It’s also present on other leukocytes (B cells, monocytes, neutrophils) where it mediates endothelial attachment and migration.

CD3-positive means cells express CD3, a protein on T lymphocytes; CD20-positive means cells express CD20, a protein on B lymphocytes. "Positive" indicates these markers are detected by tests (flow cytometry or immunohistochemistry), identifying the type and proportion of immune cells. This helps diagnose and classify immune disorders and lymphomas and guides treatment or monitoring of immune status.
