A normal KUB (kidney–ureter–bladder) X‑ray shows kidneys, ureters and bladder of normal size, shape and position with no visible radio‑opaque stones or abnormal calcifications. There is no intestinal obstruction, free air, or soft‑tissue mass; bowel gas pattern and osseous structures are unremarkable. Overall, findings indicate no acute abdominal or urinary tract radiographic abnormality.

A KUB (kidney‑ureter‑bladder X‑ray) is generally painless and noninvasive. The procedure is quick; you lie on a table while a radiographer takes images. You may feel mild discomfort from lying still or moving if you have abdominal pain, but the imaging itself does not cause pain. It uses low‑dose radiation, and pregnancy should be discussed beforehand.
