What is a X Ray Sternum AP View Test in Thane ?
What is X Ray Sternum AP View?
An X Ray Sternum AP View is an X-ray picture of the breastbone taken from front to back. It shows the bone shape, alignment, and any metal from surgery. It is non-invasive and shows internal structures directly, providing information that blood and urine tests cannot.
What does X Ray Sternum AP View show?
The sternum helps protect the heart and supports the chest wall. This view is important to find fractures, infections, unusual growths, or problems after heart surgery. Doctors use it when someone has chest pain after injury, localized soreness, or to check healing after a procedure. If more detail is needed, a CT scan or additional X-ray views may follow.
What symptoms suggest X Ray Sternum AP View may be needed?
A doctor may recommend X Ray Sternum AP View when a patient reports localised pain, swelling, or injury, a lump or restricted movement, or an abnormal finding on an earlier test that needs to be examined directly. In Thane, you can book this test online with home collection available in Wagle Estate, Waghbil, and beyond.
How is X Ray Sternum AP View done?
No needle or sample is involved. At an accredited imaging centre serving Wagle Estate and Waghbil, Thane, a radiographer performs the scan, which is painless and usually completed within 10 to 15 minutes. A qualified radiologist interprets the images and issues a report you can access on GetVisit. (Home collection does not apply to imaging.)
How accurate is X Ray Sternum AP View?
GetVisit partners only with accredited imaging centres in and around Wagle Estate, Waghbil, and Thane that use maintained, calibrated equipment and qualified radiographers. Every scan is interpreted by a qualified radiologist, and reports are accepted by hospital networks, specialists, and insurers across India.
Are there any risks to X Ray Sternum AP View?
A standard X-ray uses a very low dose of radiation considered safe for diagnostic use; ultrasound uses sound waves and involves no radiation at all. If you are or might be pregnant, tell the centre in Wagle Estate or Waghbil, Thane beforehand so the safest approach can be chosen. There is no needle and no recovery time.

Why Take a X Ray Sternum AP View Test in Thane ?
When does a doctor order X Ray Sternum AP View?
X Ray Sternum AP View is ordered as part of a chest or sternum imaging series when a doctor suspects sternal injury. It is used for patients with chest pain after trauma, focal chest tenderness, or after open-heart surgery.
Who should get X Ray Sternum AP View done in Thane?
Thane's fast-growing population, monsoon flooding driving leptospirosis and dengue in Mumbra, Kalwa, and Diva, heavy commute and stress burden, and rising diabetes and cardiovascular rates make regular preventive diagnostic testing an essential health investment for residents across the city. Those who benefit most from X Ray Sternum AP View include patients needing structural assessment that bloodwork cannot provide, and anyone under surveillance for a previously detected abnormality in Thane.
What can X Ray Sternum AP View help detect?
The test helps detect fractures, infection, abnormal growths, or displaced surgical wires. Abnormal findings may be caused by accidents, infection, tumors, surgery, or bone disease, and family history of chest wall defects may prompt earlier imaging.
What do X Ray Sternum AP View results mean?
Findings are graded from normal to significant, and comparison with any previous scan shows whether a known finding is stable, improving, or progressing. Your doctor explains the report in the context of your symptoms. See the FAQs below for more detail on this scan.
How often should X Ray Sternum AP View be repeated?
For preventive screening with a normal baseline: annually for most adults above 35. For monitoring a known condition: at the interval your specialist recommends , typically every 3 to 6 months for active conditions and annually for stable, well-controlled ones.
What happens after X Ray Sternum AP View results are ready?
