What is a X Ray Sialography Test in Thane ?
What is X Ray Sialography?
X Ray Sialography is an imaging exam that shows the ducts and structure of the salivary glands. A small contrast dye is gently injected into a gland duct. It is non-invasive and shows internal structures directly, providing information that blood and urine tests cannot.
What does X Ray Sialography show?
X‑rays then show how the ducts fill and where blockages or damage occur. It helps find stones, strictures, infections, chronic inflammation, and some tumors. Saliva is important for chewing, digestion, and oral health. Doctors use sialography to diagnose the cause of gland pain or swelling.
What symptoms suggest X Ray Sialography may be needed?
A doctor may recommend X Ray Sialography when a patient reports localised pain, swelling, or injury, a lump or restricted movement, or an abnormal finding on an earlier test that needs to be examined directly. If you have these symptoms, GetVisit offers booking and home collection across Panchpakhadi, Manpada, and other parts of Thane.
How is X Ray Sialography done?
This is an imaging scan, not a blood or fluid test, so no sample is collected. A qualified radiographer positions you at an accredited GetVisit-partnered imaging centre in Panchpakhadi or Manpada, Thane and captures the images in a few minutes. A radiologist reviews them and your report is made available through GetVisit.
How accurate is X Ray Sialography?
GetVisit partners only with accredited imaging centres in and around Panchpakhadi, Manpada, and Thane that use maintained, calibrated equipment and qualified radiographers. Every scan is interpreted by a qualified radiologist, and reports are accepted by hospital networks, specialists, and insurers across India.
Are there any risks to X Ray Sialography?
Imaging is safe and non-invasive. Ultrasound and MRI use no ionising radiation; X-ray and CT use carefully controlled low doses justified by the diagnostic benefit. Inform staff at the Panchpakhadi or Manpada, Thane centre if you are pregnant or have implants or metal devices, so precautions can be taken.
Did you know?
Sialography is an imaging test of the salivary glands and ducts where a radiopaque contrast is gently injected into a duct and X-rays or fluoroscopy (sometimes CT) are taken.

Why Take a X Ray Sialography Test in Thane ?
When does a doctor order X Ray Sialography?
X Ray Sialography is used when doctors suspect salivary duct problems or gland disease. It is ordered for symptoms such as painful swelling, recurring gland infections, or pain when eating.
Who should get X Ray Sialography done in Thane?
Thane's fast-growing population, monsoon flooding driving leptospirosis and dengue in Mumbra, Kalwa, and Diva, heavy commute and stress burden, and rising diabetes and cardiovascular rates make regular preventive diagnostic testing an essential health investment for residents across the city. Those who benefit most from X Ray Sialography include patients needing structural assessment that bloodwork cannot provide, and anyone under surveillance for a previously detected abnormality in Thane.
What can X Ray Sialography help detect?
The test helps diagnose stones, strictures, chronic sialadenitis, autoimmune gland disease, and some tumors. Abnormal findings can come from stones, infection, inflammation, prior surgery, or autoimmune conditions. Family history of autoimmune disease may make this test more relevant.
What do X Ray Sialography results mean?
An imaging report describes what the scan shows and whether it is normal or reveals a specific finding. A qualified radiologist interprets the images, and your doctor explains what any finding means for you and whether a further test or treatment is needed. The FAQs below cover what this scan can and cannot show.
How often should X Ray Sialography be repeated?
For preventive screening with a normal baseline: annually for most adults above 35. For monitoring a known condition: at the interval your specialist recommends , typically every 3 to 6 months for active conditions and annually for stable, well-controlled ones.
What happens after X Ray Sialography results are ready?
Reports arrive digitally and remain in your GetVisit history, so repeat tests can be tracked over months and years. Review anything unexpected with your doctor before changing medication or lifestyle, and use the app to book a follow-up if needed.
