X Ray Right Toe AP & Obl View, in Vasai Virar

AP (anteroposterior) means the X‑ray beam passes from front to back; it's commonly used for supine or portable films and can slightly magnify structures like the heart. OBL (oblique) means the beam or patient is angled (often ~45°) to separate overlapping anatomy, improving visualization of ribs, joints, spine or fractures. Both are positioning terms for image acquisition.

Typical costs for a foot X‑ray (AP and oblique) vary widely by country and provider: about ₹300–₹1,200 in India at private centres; free on the NHS but approximately £30–£100 privately in the UK; and roughly $50–$300 in the US out‑of‑pocket. Final price depends on facility, location, additional views and reporting fees—check local radiology centres or your insurer for exact charges.

A foot AP (anteroposterior) X‑ray is a frontal radiograph taken with the X‑ray beam directed from the top (dorsum) toward the sole (plantar surface). It evaluates bones, joints and alignment to detect fractures, dislocations, arthritis or bone lesions. The patient sits or lies with the foot flat on the detector; metal is removed. The exam is quick, low‑radiation, and read by a radiologist.

An oblique view on an X-ray is taken with the patient or cassette rotated so the beam strikes at an intermediate angle between frontal (AP/PA) and lateral positions. This projection better separates overlapping anatomical structures, improving visualization of fractures, joint alignment, rib lesions, spine facets, and foreign bodies that may be obscured on standard views. Typical rotation is about 30–45 degrees.

OBL in radiology means an oblique projection or view taken with the X‑ray beam angled between the frontal (AP/PA) and lateral planes. Oblique views help separate overlapping structures, improve visualization of joints, spine, ribs and suspected fractures, and assess alignment. They are used when standard AP/PA or lateral images are insufficient; positioning and angle are documented for interpretation.

AP stands for Anteroposterior. In an AP X‑ray the X‑ray beam travels from the anterior (front) to the posterior (back) of the body, with the source in front of the patient and the detector behind. It’s commonly used for supine or portable chest radiographs and when patients cannot stand for a PA (posteroanterior) view; it may slightly magnify the heart.
