X Ray Right Foot AP and Oblique View

A foot AP oblique X-ray is an anteroposterior radiograph taken with the foot rotated 30–45° to produce an oblique view. This projection better visualizes the metatarsals, tarsometatarsal joints, and midfoot structures, helping detect fractures, dislocations, arthritis, or foreign bodies. It’s a quick, noninvasive diagnostic film often performed standing, seated, or supine depending on clinical need and patient comfort.

Follow instructions about weight‑bearing if requested, remain still during exposure, and cooperate with positioning cues.

A foot oblique view is very quick. The actual X‑ray exposure lasts less than a second, and positioning and brief instructions usually take only a few minutes. Allow about 5–15 minutes for the whole exam in the radiology department to include arrival, positioning, imaging, and immediate review. Additional time may be needed for multiple views or detailed reporting.
