What is a X Ray RGU Test in Jodhpur ?
What is X Ray RGU?
An X Ray RGU (retrograde urethrogram) is an X-ray test that images the urethra. Contrast dye is gently placed into the urethra so X-rays can show its shape and lining. It is non-invasive and shows internal structures directly, providing information that blood and urine tests cannot.
What does X Ray RGU show?
The test detects narrowing (strictures), tears, leaks, or abnormal connections. It matters because urethral problems cause pain, poor urine flow, infections, or urine retention. Doctors use RGU to diagnose injuries after trauma, to investigate repeated urinary symptoms, and to plan procedures such as dilation or surgery. The images help guide treatment and follow-up care.
What symptoms suggest X Ray RGU may be needed?
X Ray RGU is generally requested as part of a imaging assessment. Doctors commonly investigate this area when someone reports localised pain, swelling, or injury, a lump or restricted movement, or an abnormal finding on an earlier test that needs to be examined directly. Whether X Ray RGU specifically is the right test depends on your history and what your doctor is looking for. In Jodhpur, you can book this test online and check whether home collection reaches Mandore, Air Force Area or your address.
How is X Ray RGU done?
No needle or sample is involved. At an accredited imaging centre serving Mandore and Air Force Area, Jodhpur, a radiographer performs the scan, which is painless and usually completed within 10 to 15 minutes. A qualified radiologist interprets the images and issues a report you can access on GetVisit. (Home collection does not apply to imaging.)
How accurate is X Ray RGU?
GetVisit partners only with accredited imaging centres in and around Mandore, Air Force Area, and Jodhpur that use maintained, calibrated equipment and qualified radiographers. Every scan is interpreted by a qualified radiologist, and reports are accepted by hospital networks, specialists, and insurers across India.
Are there any risks to X Ray RGU?
A standard X-ray uses a very low dose of radiation considered safe for diagnostic use; ultrasound uses sound waves and involves no radiation at all. If you are or might be pregnant, tell the centre in Mandore or Air Force Area, Jodhpur beforehand so the safest approach can be chosen. There is no needle and no recovery time.
Did you know?
An RGU (retrograde urethrogram) usually causes only mild to moderate discomfort rather than severe pain.

Why Take a X Ray RGU Test in Jodhpur ?
When does a doctor order X Ray RGU?
X Ray RGU is ordered as a targeted imaging study when doctors suspect urethral injury, stricture, or blockage. It is often used after pelvic trauma, difficult catheterization, recurrent urinary infections, or persistent weak urine flow.
Who should get X Ray RGU done in Jodhpur?
Jodhpur's desert climate with extreme summer heat and hard water raising stone risk, ghee-rich Marwari diet driving diabetes and heart disease, and tourism and trade economy make regular preventive testing worthwhile citywide. Imaging benefits patients with pain, swelling, a palpable lump, injury, or an abnormal earlier finding, as well as those monitoring a known condition. GetVisit helps residents of Mandore, Air Force Area, and across Jodhpur book accredited imaging with clear pricing.
What can X Ray RGU help detect?
The test helps confirm the diagnosis and guides treatment planning, including dilation or surgery. Abnormal results can come from trauma, infection, prior surgery, prolonged catheter use, or radiation exposure. Family history of urethral problems may increase need.
What do X Ray RGU results mean?
An imaging report describes what the scan shows and whether it is normal or reveals a specific finding. A qualified radiologist interprets the images, and your doctor explains what any finding means for you and whether a further test or treatment is needed. The FAQs below cover what this scan can and cannot show.
How often should X Ray RGU be repeated?
For preventive screening with a normal baseline: annually for most adults above 35. For monitoring a known condition: at the interval your specialist recommends, typically every 3 to 6 months for active conditions and annually for stable, well-controlled ones.
What happens after your X Ray RGU results are ready?
Results are delivered to your phone and stored securely on GetVisit. Any value the laboratory flags as critical is escalated for urgent review, and for everything else your doctor or a verified specialist can guide the next step at your convenience.
