What is sclerosis of the SI joint?

Sclerosis of the sacroiliac (SI) joint is an imaging finding where bone near the joint becomes abnormally dense. It commonly reflects chronic stress, degenerative osteoarthritis or long‑standing inflammation (for example spondyloarthritis). Symptoms can include lower‑back or buttock pain, stiffness and reduced mobility. Treatment targets pain relief, physical therapy, possible steroid injections, and management of any underlying inflammatory condition.

What is the Dunn view of the pelvis?

The Dunn view of the pelvis is a specific radiographic hip projection that profiles the femoral head–neck junction. It is obtained with the patient supine, the hip flexed to about 45° and slightly abducted, producing an oblique lateral image. This view improves detection of femoroacetabular impingement, cam deformities and slipped capital femoral epiphysis by better showing anterior head–neck morphology.

Q: What will an X-ray of the pelvis show?

A pelvic X-ray shows the bony pelvis—ilium, ischium, pubis—plus sacrum, coccyx, both hip joints and the top of the femurs. It detects fractures, dislocations, degenerative changes (arthritis), joint-space narrowing, bone lesions, calcifications, implants (hip replacements) and major alignment or leg‑length differences. Soft-tissue detail is limited; CT or MRI may be needed for complex injuries.

What is a X Ray Pelvis Ferguson View Test in Nashik ?

What is X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW?

The Ferguson view is a specific X ray projection of the pelvis that gives a clear picture of pelvic bones and nearby joints. It focuses on the pelvic ring, hip sockets and sacroiliac joints to reveal alignment and bony detail.

What does X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW show?

These structures support your weight and help you walk, so their health is essential. The view helps detect fractures, dislocations, arthritis, infections, and some congenital changes. Doctors order it after falls or accidents, for persistent hip or groin pain, and to follow healing after treatment. It is quick and widely available.

What symptoms suggest X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW may be needed?

X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW is generally requested as part of a imaging assessment. Doctors commonly investigate this area when someone reports localised pain, swelling, or injury, a lump or restricted movement, or an abnormal finding on an earlier test that needs to be examined directly. Whether X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW specifically is the right test depends on your history and what your doctor is looking for. GetVisit makes testing convenient in Nashik, with partner-lab slots and home collection offered in many areas including Ambad and Gangapur Road.

How is X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW done?

This is an imaging scan, not a blood or fluid test, so no sample is collected. A qualified radiographer positions you at an accredited GetVisit-partnered imaging centre in Ambad or Gangapur Road, Nashik and captures the images in a few minutes. A radiologist reviews them and your report is made available through GetVisit.

How accurate is X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW?

Image quality and interpretation are the two pillars of accuracy. GetVisit's accredited centres serving Ambad and Gangapur Road, Nashik maintain modern equipment, and a qualified radiologist reviews each study before the report is issued.

Are there any risks to X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW?

A standard X-ray uses a very low dose of radiation considered safe for diagnostic use; ultrasound uses sound waves and involves no radiation at all. If you are or might be pregnant, tell the centre in Ambad or Gangapur Road, Nashik beforehand so the safest approach can be chosen. There is no needle and no recovery time.

Did you know?

Why Take a X Ray Pelvis Ferguson View Test in Nashik ?

When does a doctor order X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW?

X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW is usually ordered as part of pelvic imaging or trauma series when doctors suspect injury or joint disease. It is requested for symptoms such as sudden hip pain, difficulty walking, or after a fall.

Who should get X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW done in Nashik?

Nashik's industrial and agricultural economy, MIDC shift workforce, rising diabetes and cardiovascular prevalence, and seasonal monsoon infection peaks make regular preventive diagnostic testing a sensible habit citywide. Those who benefit most from X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW include patients needing structural assessment that bloodwork cannot provide, and anyone under surveillance for a previously detected abnormality in Nashik.

What can X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW help detect?

The view helps diagnose fractures, dislocations, arthritis, infection, or developmental problems. Abnormal findings often result from trauma, wear-and-tear, infection, or congenital conditions, and family history of hip disorders may increase testing.

What do X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW results mean?

An imaging report describes what the scan shows and whether it is normal or reveals a specific finding. A qualified radiologist interprets the images, and your doctor explains what any finding means for you and whether a further test or treatment is needed. The FAQs below cover what this scan can and cannot show.

How often should X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW be repeated?

For preventive screening with a normal baseline: annually for most adults above 35. For monitoring a known condition: at the interval your specialist recommends, typically every 3 to 6 months for active conditions and annually for stable, well-controlled ones.

What happens after your X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW results are ready?

After the lab authorises your results, the report is uploaded to your GetVisit account and saved for future comparison. If anything falls outside the expected range, your doctor can advise whether it needs a repeat test, a lifestyle change, or a specialist opinion.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Ferguson view of the pelvis?

The Ferguson view of the pelvis is an AP axial radiographic projection with a cephalad-angulated central ray (about 30°) aimed at the lumbosacral junction. It opens the L5-S1 interspace and better demonstrates the sacrum, sacroiliac joints, and lumbosacral alignment for assessing trauma, degenerative change, or alignment abnormalities. Patient may be supine or upright per clinical need.

What are the views for pelvis X-ray?

Pelvic radiography typically includes an AP pelvis (supine) and AP bilateral hips. In trauma, an extended pelvic series adds inlet and outlet views to assess pelvic ring displacement, plus Judet (oblique) views, iliac and obturator oblique, for acetabular fractures. For hip-focused imaging, a frog‑leg lateral or cross‑table lateral may be added to visualize femoral head and neck.

What is the position of the modified Ferguson view?

The modified Ferguson (AP axial lumbosacral) view is taken with the patient supine, legs extended, and the central ray angled cephalad (about 30-35°) toward the lumbosacral junction. The beam is centered at the L5-S1 region (roughly 1.5 inches above the pubic symphysis) to open the L5-S1 disc space and demonstrate lumbosacral alignment.

What will an X-ray of the pelvis show?

A pelvic X-ray shows the bony pelvis, ilium, ischium, pubis, plus sacrum, coccyx, both hip joints and the top of the femurs. It detects fractures, dislocations, degenerative changes (arthritis), joint-space narrowing, bone lesions, calcifications, implants (hip replacements) and major alignment or leg‑length differences. Soft-tissue detail is limited; CT or MRI may be needed for complex injuries.

Do I need to fast before X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW?

Most scans need no fasting, but some abdominal ultrasounds require a few hours without food or a full bladder. Follow the specific instruction shown when you book X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW, or check with the centre.

Is X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW safe if I am pregnant?

Tell the centre before X RAY PELVIS FERGUSON VIEW if you are or might be pregnant. Ultrasound and MRI use no ionising radiation; for X-ray or CT the team will decide the safest approach or suggest an alternative.
