What is a X Ray Myelogram Test in Thane ?
What is X Ray Myelogram?
An X Ray Myelogram is an imaging procedure that uses X-rays and a special contrast dye injected into the spinal canal. The dye outlines the spinal cord, nerve roots, and fluid spaces. It is non-invasive and shows internal structures directly, providing information that blood and urine tests cannot.
What does X Ray Myelogram show?
This helps doctors see where nerves are compressed, displaced, or blocked. It matters because nerve compression can cause pain, numbness, weakness, and loss of function. Doctors use myelography to diagnose herniated discs, spinal stenosis, tumors, infections, and scar tissue. It is also useful when MRI cannot be done or gives unclear results.
What symptoms suggest X Ray Myelogram may be needed?
A doctor may recommend X Ray Myelogram when a patient reports localised pain, swelling, or injury, a lump or restricted movement, or an abnormal finding on an earlier test that needs to be examined directly. GetVisit makes testing convenient in Thane, with lab slots and home collection in Vasant Vihar, Waghbil, and nearby areas.
How is X Ray Myelogram done?
This is an imaging scan, not a blood or fluid test, so no sample is collected. A qualified radiographer positions you at an accredited GetVisit-partnered imaging centre in Vasant Vihar or Waghbil, Thane and captures the images in a few minutes. A radiologist reviews them and your report is made available through GetVisit.
How accurate is X Ray Myelogram?
GetVisit partners only with accredited imaging centres in and around Vasant Vihar, Waghbil, and Thane that use maintained, calibrated equipment and qualified radiographers. Every scan is interpreted by a qualified radiologist, and reports are accepted by hospital networks, specialists, and insurers across India.
Are there any risks to X Ray Myelogram?
A standard X-ray uses a very low dose of radiation considered safe for diagnostic use; ultrasound uses sound waves and involves no radiation at all. If you are or might be pregnant, tell the centre in Vasant Vihar or Waghbil, Thane beforehand so the safest approach can be chosen. There is no needle and no recovery time.
Did you know?
A myelogram is usually only mildly to moderately uncomfortable.

Why Take a X Ray Myelogram Test in Thane ?
When does a doctor order X Ray Myelogram?
X Ray Myelogram is an imaging procedure, often combined with CT myelography, ordered for persistent back or leg pain, numbness, weakness, or unexplained neurological signs. It helps diagnose herniated discs, spinal stenosis, tumors, infections, and scar tissue.
Who should get X Ray Myelogram done in Thane?
Thane's fast-growing population, monsoon flooding driving leptospirosis and dengue in Mumbra, Kalwa, and Diva, heavy commute and stress burden, and rising diabetes and cardiovascular rates make regular preventive diagnostic testing an essential health investment for residents across the city. Imaging benefits patients with pain, swelling, a palpable lump, injury, or an abnormal earlier finding, as well as those monitoring a known condition. GetVisit helps residents of Wagle Estate, Hiranandani Estate, and across Thane book accredited imaging with clear pricing.
What can X Ray Myelogram help detect?
Abnormal results can come from degeneration, injury, tumors, infection, or inflammation, and blood thinners may affect timing. A family history of spinal disease may increase the test’s importance.
What do X Ray Myelogram results mean?
Findings are graded from normal to significant, and comparison with any previous scan shows whether a known finding is stable, improving, or progressing. Your doctor explains the report in the context of your symptoms. See the FAQs below for more detail on this scan.
How often should X Ray Myelogram be repeated?
For preventive screening with a normal baseline: annually for most adults above 35. For monitoring a known condition: at the interval your specialist recommends , typically every 3 to 6 months for active conditions and annually for stable, well-controlled ones.
What happens after X Ray Myelogram results are ready?
Once your results appear in your GetVisit profile, discuss them with your doctor or a GetVisit-verified specialist. Your doctor will interpret each value in the context of your full health history, current medications, and symptoms, and advise on the next step: lifestyle change, repeat testing, medication adjustment, or specialist referral. All GetVisit reports are stored permanently and can be shared with any doctor instantly.
