X Ray Lumbo Sacral Spine Lateral and AP View

An X‑ray LS spine AP and lateral is a plain radiograph of the lumbosacral spine taken in anteroposterior (front‑to‑back) and side views. It assesses vertebral alignment, fractures, degenerative changes, disc space narrowing, spondylolisthesis and bony lesions. It’s quick and low‑dose, used for trauma or chronic low back pain, but has limited soft‑tissue and disc detail compared with MRI or CT.

AP (anteroposterior) view is an X‑ray projection where rays pass from the front to the back of the body, often used when patients are supine or cannot stand; it can magnify anterior structures. Lateral view is taken from the side, perpendicular to AP, showing depth and separation of overlapping anatomy. Together they localize lesions, assess alignment, and detect fractures or chest pathology.

Follow staff instructions; they’ll tell you if garments must be removed for clear, accurate images.
