What is a X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view Test in Vijayawada ?
What is X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view?
An X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view produces plain X-ray images of the lumbosacral spine. It shows the lumbar vertebrae, sacrum, and their alignment on front and side views. It is non-invasive and shows internal structures directly, providing information that blood and urine tests cannot.
What does X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view show?
It helps doctors see bone fractures, arthritis, bone loss, deformity, or slippage of vertebrae. It gives clues about disc space narrowing and spinal alignment, though it does not show soft tissues in detail. Doctors use it to evaluate back pain, assess trauma, guide further imaging or treatment, and to monitor healing or progression of degenerative changes. It is a quick, widely available test with low radiation.
What symptoms suggest X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view may be needed?
X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view is generally requested as part of a imaging assessment. Doctors commonly investigate this area when someone reports localised pain, swelling, or injury, a lump or restricted movement, or an abnormal finding on an earlier test that needs to be examined directly. Whether X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view specifically is the right test depends on your history and what your doctor is looking for. Sample collection for Vijayawada is available at partner labs, with home collection in many areas including Singh Nagar and Gunadala; you can confirm availability for your address at booking.
How is X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view done?
This is an imaging scan, not a blood or fluid test, so no sample is collected. A qualified radiographer positions you at an accredited GetVisit-partnered imaging centre in Singh Nagar or Gunadala, Vijayawada and captures the images in a few minutes. A radiologist reviews them and your report is made available through GetVisit.
How accurate is X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view?
Image quality and interpretation are the two pillars of accuracy. GetVisit's accredited centres serving Singh Nagar and Gunadala, Vijayawada maintain modern equipment, and a qualified radiologist reviews each study before the report is issued.
Are there any risks to X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view?
Imaging is safe and non-invasive. Ultrasound and MRI use no ionising radiation; X-ray and CT use carefully controlled low doses justified by the diagnostic benefit. Inform staff at the Singh Nagar or Gunadala, Vijayawada centre if you are pregnant or have implants or metal devices, so precautions can be taken.
Did you know?
AP (anteroposterior) view: X‑ray beam passes from the front (anterior) to the back (posterior) of the body; often used when a patient cannot stand and may magnify anterior structures.

Why Take a X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view Test in Vijayawada ?
When does a doctor order X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view?
X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view is part of the basic spinal imaging set used by radiology. Doctors order it for lower back pain, injury after a fall or accident, numbness or leg pain, or to follow known spine problems.
Who should get X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view done in Vijayawada?
Vijayawada's river-side geography and monsoon flooding, extreme summer heat raising dehydration and stone risk, rice-heavy diet driving high diabetes prevalence, and busy trade economy make regular preventive testing worthwhile. Those who benefit most from X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view include patients needing structural assessment that bloodwork cannot provide, and anyone under surveillance for a previously detected abnormality in Vijayawada.
What can X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view help detect?
It helps diagnose fractures, arthritis, spondylolisthesis, infection, or tumors. Abnormal findings often stem from trauma, age-related wear, osteoporosis, or infection. Family history of spine disease can prompt earlier imaging.
What do X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view results mean?
Findings are graded from normal to significant, and comparison with any previous scan shows whether a known finding is stable, improving, or progressing. Your doctor explains the report in the context of your symptoms. See the FAQs below for more detail on this scan.
How often should X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view be repeated?
For preventive screening with a normal baseline: annually for most adults above 35. For monitoring a known condition: at the interval your specialist recommends, typically every 3 to 6 months for active conditions and annually for stable, well-controlled ones.
What happens after your X Ray LS Spine AP & Lateral view results are ready?
After the lab authorises your results, the report is uploaded to your GetVisit account and saved for future comparison. If anything falls outside the expected range, your doctor can advise whether it needs a repeat test, a lifestyle change, or a specialist opinion.
