X Ray Left Leg Lateral view

The lateral position for a leg X‑ray is a side‑on view with the affected limb placed adjacent to the image receptor. The patient stands or lies with the leg rotated 90° so the beam travels laterally to medially; the knee is slightly flexed and foot dorsiflexed as needed. This profile view highlights bone cortex, joint alignment and soft‑tissue contours to detect fractures or displacement.

Frog-leg lateral view is a hip radiographic projection taken with the patient supine, hips flexed about 45°, abducted and externally rotated so the soles of the feet touch like “frog legs.” It provides a lateral projection of the proximal femur and acetabulum, improving visualization of the femoral head, neck and joint space. It helps detect femoral neck fractures, slipped capital femoral epiphysis and hip dysplasia.

A 4‑view knee X‑ray is a set of four radiographic projections taken to thoroughly evaluate the knee. It commonly includes anteroposterior (AP), lateral, axial (skyline/patellar) and a weight‑bearing or intercondylar (tunnel/Rosenberg) view. These complementary angles help detect fractures, arthritis, joint‑space narrowing, patellar alignment issues and other bone or joint abnormalities.

A lateral foot X‑ray is a side‑view radiographic image showing the bones, joints and soft tissues of the foot. It helps detect fractures, dislocations, arthritis, bone alignment, foreign bodies and deformities. The exam is quick and noninvasive: the patient stands or lies with the foot positioned sideways while an X‑ray beam captures the profile. Radiation exposure is low.

The left lateral leg is the outer side of the lower limb between the knee and ankle on the left side. It contains the fibula (including the lateral malleolus), the lateral compartment muscles (fibularis longus and brevis), their tendons, the superficial peroneal nerve, and overlying skin and vessels. It helps produce foot eversion and provides lateral stability during walking.

A lateral view in X‑ray is a side-to-side radiographic projection taken with the X‑ray beam passing from one side of the body to the other. It complements frontal (AP/PA) views by showing depth, posterior–anterior relationships and reducing overlapping structures, aiding assessment of the chest, spine, skull and limbs, detection of fractures, alignment, air–fluid levels and foreign bodies.
