What is a X Ray Ivp Test in Patna ?
What is X Ray Ivp?
An intravenous pyelogram (IVP) is an X-ray exam that uses a contrast dye injected into a vein to highlight the kidneys, ureters, and bladder. It shows the shape, size, and how urine flows through the urinary tract.
What does X Ray Ivp show?
This helps identify kidney stones, blockages, tumors, congenital differences, or damage from infections. Doctors use IVP to find the cause of blood in the urine, recurrent urinary infections, or sudden kidney pain. It can guide treatment choices, like surgery or other tests, and monitor changes over time. Before the test, staff will check kidney function and ask about allergies to iodine or contrast.
What symptoms suggest X Ray Ivp may be needed?
A doctor may recommend X Ray Ivp when a patient reports localised pain, swelling, or injury, a lump or restricted movement, or an abnormal finding on an earlier test that needs to be examined directly. Sample collection for Patna is available at labs and at home across Mithapur, Danapur, and surrounding neighbourhoods.
How is X Ray Ivp done?
This is an imaging scan, not a blood or fluid test, so no sample is collected. A qualified radiographer positions you at an accredited GetVisit-partnered imaging centre in Mithapur or Danapur, Patna and captures the images in a few minutes. A radiologist reviews them and your report is made available through GetVisit.
How accurate is X Ray Ivp?
GetVisit partners only with accredited imaging centres in and around Mithapur, Danapur, and Patna that use maintained, calibrated equipment and qualified radiographers. Every scan is interpreted by a qualified radiologist, and reports are accepted by hospital networks, specialists, and insurers across India.
Are there any risks to X Ray Ivp?
Imaging is safe and non-invasive. Ultrasound and MRI use no ionising radiation; X-ray and CT use carefully controlled low doses justified by the diagnostic benefit. Inform staff at the Mithapur or Danapur, Patna centre if you are pregnant or have implants or metal devices, so precautions can be taken.

IVP (intravenous pyelogram) costs vary widely by country and provider.
X Ray Ivp Test Preparation in Patna
Fasting and dietary instructions:
Most imaging scans need no fasting. Some abdominal ultrasounds require a few hours of fasting or a full bladder, so follow the specific instruction shown when you book, or ask the centre.
Medication guidance:
Continue your regular medication unless told otherwise. Tell the centre if you have diabetes, kidney problems, or allergies, especially if a contrast study is planned.
What to bring:
Bring your doctor's referral, a valid photo ID, your insurance card if using cashless OPD, and any previous scans or reports so the radiologist can compare.
Timing:
Book a slot that suits you at an accredited GetVisit centre in Sheikhpura or Kankarbagh, Patna. Wear loose clothing without metal fasteners, and remove jewellery before the scan.

Why Take a X Ray Ivp Test in Patna ?
When does a doctor order X Ray Ivp?
X Ray Ivp is ordered when doctors suspect problems in the urinary tract. It is often used alone rather than in a panel.
Who should get X Ray Ivp done in Patna?
Patna's Ganga floodplain geography and monsoon waterborne-infection burden, widespread iron and vitamin deficiency, rising diabetes and cardiovascular disease, and hot summers make regular preventive diagnostic testing especially valuable for residents across the city. Imaging benefits patients with pain, swelling, a palpable lump, injury, or an abnormal earlier finding, as well as those monitoring a known condition. GetVisit helps residents of Mithapur, Danapur, and across Patna book accredited imaging with clear pricing.
What can X Ray Ivp help detect?
Symptoms such as blood in the urine, severe flank pain, recurrent infections, or unexplained kidney test changes may prompt the exam. Abnormal findings can result from stones, tumors, scars, infections, or congenital differences. A family history of kidney disease or stones can make this test more important.
What do X Ray Ivp results mean?
Findings are graded from normal to significant, and comparison with any previous scan shows whether a known finding is stable, improving, or progressing. Your doctor explains the report in the context of your symptoms. See the FAQs below for more detail on this scan.
How often should X Ray Ivp be repeated?
For preventive screening with a normal baseline: annually for most adults above 35. For monitoring a known condition: at the interval your specialist recommends, typically every 3 to 6 months for active conditions and annually for stable, well-controlled ones.
What happens after your X Ray Ivp results are ready?
You will be notified the moment results are ready, usually the same day for routine tests. Open the report in the GetVisit app to see each value beside its reference range, share it with your doctor in a tap, or book a specialist consultation to talk it through.
