This projection reduces bone overlap, improving detection of scaphoid fractures and guiding early diagnosis and management.

The best initial wrist X‑rays are posteroanterior (PA) and lateral views, with an oblique view commonly added. For suspected scaphoid fractures, a dedicated scaphoid (PA with ulnar deviation) projection improves visualization. If radiographs are normal but clinical suspicion persists, consider advanced imaging (CT or MRI). Ensure correct positioning and multiple views for accurate assessment.
