What is a X Ray Both Thumb AP & Lateral view Test in Mysuru ?
What is X Ray Both Thumb AP & Lateral view?
An X Ray Both Thumb AP & Lateral view is an imaging study that takes front (AP) and side (lateral) pictures of both thumbs. It shows bone shape, alignment, joint spaces, and any obvious breaks or foreign objects.
What does X Ray Both Thumb AP & Lateral view show?
This test is important because thumbs are key for gripping and hand function. Doctors use these images to detect fractures, dislocations, arthritis, infections, or growth problems. It helps guide treatment after injury and monitors healing over time. Images are quick to obtain.
What symptoms suggest X Ray Both Thumb AP & Lateral view may be needed?
X Ray Both Thumb AP & Lateral view is generally requested as part of a imaging assessment. Doctors commonly investigate this area when someone reports localised pain, swelling, or injury, a lump or restricted movement, or an abnormal finding on an earlier test that needs to be examined directly. Whether X Ray Both Thumb AP & Lateral view specifically is the right test depends on your history and what your doctor is looking for. GetVisit makes testing convenient in Mysuru, with partner-lab slots and home collection offered in many areas including Saraswathipuram and Vijayanagar.
How is X Ray Both Thumb AP & Lateral view done?
No needle or sample is involved. At an accredited imaging centre serving Saraswathipuram and Vijayanagar, Mysuru, a radiographer performs the scan, which is painless and usually completed within 10 to 15 minutes. A qualified radiologist interprets the images and issues a report you can access on GetVisit. (Home collection does not apply to imaging.)
How accurate is X Ray Both Thumb AP & Lateral view?
GetVisit partners only with accredited imaging centres in and around Saraswathipuram, Vijayanagar, and Mysuru that use maintained, calibrated equipment and qualified radiographers. Every scan is interpreted by a qualified radiologist, and reports are accepted by hospital networks, specialists, and insurers across India.
Are there any risks to X Ray Both Thumb AP & Lateral view?
Imaging is safe and non-invasive. Ultrasound and MRI use no ionising radiation; X-ray and CT use carefully controlled low doses justified by the diagnostic benefit. Inform staff at the Saraswathipuram or Vijayanagar, Mysuru centre if you are pregnant or have implants or metal devices, so precautions can be taken.
Did you know?
Results often allow a clear decision about casting, splinting, referral to a specialist, or the need for further scans like CT or MRI if more detail is required.
