Pooled Prolactin Levels

A pooled prolactin level is obtained by taking multiple blood samples over a short period (commonly two or three samples across 30–60 minutes) and combining or averaging them to produce a single result. This approach reduces false elevations from stress, activity, or the hormone’s pulsatile secretion, improving accuracy when assessing for true hyperprolactinaemia and guiding further investigation or management.
