What is a MRI SCAN LEFT CP ANGLE(PTAM) SCREENING Test in Raipur ?
What is MRI SCAN LEFT CP ANGLE(PTAM) SCREENING?
An MRI of the left cerebellopontine (CP) angle creates detailed pictures of the small space near the brainstem and inner ear. It shows nerves, the cerebellum edge, and surrounding tissue. It is non-invasive and shows internal structures directly, providing information that blood and urine tests cannot.
What does PTAM show?
This area contains nerves for hearing and facial movement. The scan helps find tumors, cysts, or nerve compression. It also detects changes from inflammation or blood vessel problems. Doctors use the images to explain symptoms, plan surgery or radiation, and monitor known lesions over time.
What symptoms suggest PTAM may be needed?
PTAM is generally requested as part of a imaging assessment. Doctors commonly investigate this area when someone reports localised pain, swelling, or injury, a lump or restricted movement, or an abnormal finding on an earlier test that needs to be examined directly. Whether PTAM specifically is the right test depends on your history and what your doctor is looking for. If you have these symptoms, You can book online for Raipur, and check home-collection availability for Sunder Nagar, Samta Colony or your own address during booking.
How is PTAM done?
No needle or sample is involved. At an accredited imaging centre serving Sunder Nagar and Samta Colony, Raipur, a radiographer performs the scan, which is painless and usually completed within 10 to 15 minutes. A qualified radiologist interprets the images and issues a report you can access on GetVisit. (Home collection does not apply to imaging.)
How accurate is PTAM?
Image quality and interpretation are the two pillars of accuracy. GetVisit's accredited centres serving Sunder Nagar and Samta Colony, Raipur maintain modern equipment, and a qualified radiologist reviews each study before the report is issued.
Are there any risks to PTAM?
A standard X-ray uses a very low dose of radiation considered safe for diagnostic use; ultrasound uses sound waves and involves no radiation at all. If you are or might be pregnant, tell the centre in Sunder Nagar or Samta Colony, Raipur beforehand so the safest approach can be chosen. There is no needle and no recovery time.
Did you know?
The test is noninvasive and gives clear information that other exams may miss.

Why Take a MRI SCAN LEFT CP ANGLE(PTAM) SCREENING Test in Raipur ?
When does a doctor order MRI SCAN LEFT CP ANGLE(PTAM) SCREENING?
MRI SCAN LEFT CP ANGLE(PTAM) SCREENING is typically ordered as a focused head MRI when symptoms suggest a problem near the inner ear and brainstem. It is used when patients have hearing loss, ringing in the ear, balance problems, facial numbness, or unexplained headaches.
Who should get PTAM done in Raipur?
Raipur's steel and trading economy, administrative workforce, extreme summer heat, rising diabetes and cardiovascular prevalence, and monsoon infection season make regular preventive diagnostic testing worthwhile citywide. Those who benefit most from PTAM include patients needing structural assessment that bloodwork cannot provide, and anyone under surveillance for a previously detected abnormality in Raipur.
What can PTAM help detect?
The scan helps diagnose tumors (like vestibular schwannoma), cysts, inflammation, or vascular issues. Abnormal findings are usually caused by growths, infection, or structural changes, and a family history of nerve tumors can make this screening more important.
What do PTAM results mean?
Findings are graded from normal to significant, and comparison with any previous scan shows whether a known finding is stable, improving, or progressing. Your doctor explains the report in the context of your symptoms. See the FAQs below for more detail on this scan.
How often should PTAM be repeated?
For preventive screening with a normal baseline: annually for most adults above 35. For monitoring a known condition: at the interval your specialist recommends, typically every 3 to 6 months for active conditions and annually for stable, well-controlled ones.
What happens after your PTAM results are ready?
Your GetVisit digital report is delivered to your phone as soon as results are authorised. Share it directly with your doctor via the app, or book a consultation with a GetVisit-verified specialist on the same platform. Critical values outside a safe range are flagged by the laboratory for urgent clinical review.
