What is a MRI Parotid Gland Test in Thane ?
What is MRI Parotid Gland?
An MRI of the parotid gland creates detailed pictures of the salivary gland and nearby tissues. It shows the gland’s size, shape, and internal structure. It is non-invasive and shows internal structures directly, providing information that blood and urine tests cannot.
What does MRI Parotid Gland show?
Doctors use it to look for lumps, tumors, cysts, stones, inflammation, or infection. MRI helps tell if a growth is likely benign or malignant and shows how far it extends. It is useful for planning surgery, guiding biopsy decisions, and monitoring treatment or recurrence. The scan does not use X-rays.
What symptoms suggest MRI Parotid Gland may be needed?
A doctor may recommend MRI Parotid Gland when a patient reports localised pain, swelling, or injury, a lump or restricted movement, or an abnormal finding on an earlier test that needs to be examined directly. GetVisit makes testing convenient in Thane, with lab slots and home collection in Owale, Balkum, and nearby areas.
How is MRI Parotid Gland done?
No needle or sample is involved. At an accredited imaging centre serving Owale and Balkum, Thane, a radiographer performs the scan, which is painless and usually completed within 10 to 15 minutes. A qualified radiologist interprets the images and issues a report you can access on GetVisit. (Home collection does not apply to imaging.)
How accurate is MRI Parotid Gland?
Image quality and interpretation are the two pillars of accuracy. GetVisit's accredited centres serving Owale and Balkum, Thane maintain modern equipment, and a qualified radiologist reviews each study before the report is issued.
Are there any risks to MRI Parotid Gland?
Imaging is safe and non-invasive. Ultrasound and MRI use no ionising radiation; X-ray and CT use carefully controlled low doses justified by the diagnostic benefit. Inform staff at the Owale or Balkum, Thane centre if you are pregnant or have implants or metal devices, so precautions can be taken.
Did you know?
MRI is safe for most people but may not be suitable for those with certain implants or metal in the body.

Why Take a MRI Parotid Gland Test in Thane ?
When does a doctor order MRI Parotid Gland?
MRI Parotid Gland is ordered as part of head and neck imaging when doctors need detailed soft tissue views. It is used when patients have a lump, facial numbness or weakness, persistent pain, recurrent swelling, or signs of infection.
Who should get MRI Parotid Gland done in Thane?
Thane's fast-growing population, monsoon flooding driving leptospirosis and dengue in Mumbra, Kalwa, and Diva, heavy commute and stress burden, and rising diabetes and cardiovascular rates make regular preventive diagnostic testing an essential health investment for residents across the city. Those who benefit most from MRI Parotid Gland include patients needing structural assessment that bloodwork cannot provide, and anyone under surveillance for a previously detected abnormality in Thane.
What can MRI Parotid Gland help detect?
The scan helps diagnose tumors, cysts, salivary stones, inflammation, and spread to nearby nerves or tissues. Abnormal findings can come from infections, autoimmune disease, prior radiation, smoking, or tumors, and family history of salivary gland disease may increase concern.
What do MRI Parotid Gland results mean?
An imaging report describes what the scan shows and whether it is normal or reveals a specific finding. A qualified radiologist interprets the images, and your doctor explains what any finding means for you and whether a further test or treatment is needed. The FAQs below cover what this scan can and cannot show.
How often should MRI Parotid Gland be repeated?
For preventive screening with a normal baseline: annually for most adults above 35. For monitoring a known condition: at the interval your specialist recommends , typically every 3 to 6 months for active conditions and annually for stable, well-controlled ones.
What happens after MRI Parotid Gland results are ready?
After the lab authorises your results, the report is uploaded to your GetVisit account and saved for future comparison. If anything falls outside the expected range, your doctor can advise whether it needs a repeat test, a lifestyle change, or a specialist opinion.
