MRI LUMBOSACRAL SPINE WITH PBH SCREENING, in Vasai Virar

PBH stands for post‑biopsy hemorrhage. On MRI it indicates bleeding at a recent biopsy site—commonly seen in prostate imaging—manifesting as blood‑signal changes that can obscure or mimic lesions. Radiologists note PBH to correlate with biopsy timing, since hemorrhagic signal evolves over time and may prompt delayed imaging to avoid diagnostic confusion.

MRI lumbosacral spine with whole-spine screening is an imaging study focused on the lumbar and sacral vertebrae with rapid scans of the entire spine to detect additional lesions. It evaluates discs, nerve roots, spinal canal, bone marrow and spinal cord for causes like disc herniation, stenosis, infection, inflammation or metastases. It is non‑invasive, uses magnetic fields (no radiation), and may use contrast if indicated.

Costs vary by country and facility. In the US a lumbosacral MRI typically ranges roughly $400–$3,500 (higher for contrast or hospital settings); in the UK it’s free on the NHS or about £200–£700 privately; in India prices commonly run about ₹2,000–₹10,000. Additional charges may apply for contrast, radiologist reporting, or urgent appointments; check local providers and insurance coverage.

A lumbosacral MRI visualizes the lower spine (lumbar vertebrae and sacrum), showing vertebral bones, intervertebral discs (degeneration, bulges/herniations), the spinal canal and nerve roots, the conus/cauda equina, facet joints, ligaments, and surrounding soft tissues. It detects spinal stenosis, nerve compression, fractures, infections, tumors, inflammation, and post‑operative changes, and assesses alignment and disc height to guide diagnosis and treatment.

PBH (post‑bariatric hypoglycaemia) is low blood glucose that occurs after meals in people who’ve had bariatric surgery. It usually appears 1–3 hours after eating and causes sweating, shakiness, dizziness, confusion or fainting. It arises from exaggerated insulin and incretin responses. Diagnosis uses glucose monitoring and mixed‑meal testing; management includes low‑glycaemic meals, portion control, and sometimes medications with specialist follow‑up.

PBH stands for Post‑Bariatric Hypoglycemia. The term describes low blood sugar that can occur after bariatric surgery; a “PBH test” generally refers to diagnostic evaluation using blood glucose monitoring, a mixed‑meal tolerance test, or continuous glucose monitoring to document symptomatic hypoglycemia. Diagnosis helps tailor dietary, medical, or surgical treatments.
