MRI Dorsolumbar Spine

A dorsolumbar spine MRI is a noninvasive imaging scan that uses magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed cross‑sectional images of the thoracic (dorsal) and lumbar spine, including vertebrae, intervertebral discs, spinal cord and nerve roots. It helps diagnose causes of back pain, trauma, degenerative disease, infection, inflammation or tumours, and may use contrast to better visualise pathology.

A dorsal spine MRI is a magnetic resonance scan of the thoracic (mid‑back) spine that produces detailed images of vertebrae, discs, spinal cord, nerve roots and surrounding soft tissues. It’s used to investigate mid‑back pain, trauma, suspected disc herniation, spinal cord compression, infection, inflammation or tumors. The non‑invasive test uses magnets and radio waves, may involve contrast dye, and requires lying still for 20–60 minutes.
