What is a FDG PET/CT Test in Jodhpur ?
What is FDG PET/CT?
FDG PET/CT measures how much a radioactive glucose tracer (FDG) is taken up by body tissues. Tissues that use more glucose, such as many cancers, infections, or inflamed areas, show higher uptake. It is non-invasive and shows internal structures directly, providing information that blood and urine tests cannot.
What does FDG PET/CT show?
This gives a map of metabolic activity inside the body. The CT part gives matching anatomic detail. Doctors use the test to find cancers, stage disease, check spread, plan treatment, and monitor response. It also helps detect some infections, inflammatory conditions, and evaluate certain brain and heart problems.
What symptoms suggest FDG PET/CT may be needed?
FDG PET/CT is generally requested as part of a imaging assessment. Doctors commonly investigate this area when someone reports localised pain, swelling, or injury, a lump or restricted movement, or an abnormal finding on an earlier test that needs to be examined directly. Whether FDG PET/CT specifically is the right test depends on your history and what your doctor is looking for. If you have these symptoms, You can book online for Jodhpur, and check home-collection availability for Mahamandir, Paota or your own address during booking.
How is FDG PET/CT done?
No needle or sample is involved. At an accredited imaging centre serving Mahamandir and Paota, Jodhpur, a radiographer performs the scan, which is painless and usually completed within 10 to 15 minutes. A qualified radiologist interprets the images and issues a report you can access on GetVisit. (Home collection does not apply to imaging.)
How accurate is FDG PET/CT?
Image quality and interpretation are the two pillars of accuracy. GetVisit's accredited centres serving Mahamandir and Paota, Jodhpur maintain modern equipment, and a qualified radiologist reviews each study before the report is issued.
Are there any risks to FDG PET/CT?
A standard X-ray uses a very low dose of radiation considered safe for diagnostic use; ultrasound uses sound waves and involves no radiation at all. If you are or might be pregnant, tell the centre in Mahamandir or Paota, Jodhpur beforehand so the safest approach can be chosen. There is no needle and no recovery time.

Why Take a FDG PET/CT Test in Jodhpur ?
When does a doctor order FDG PET/CT?
FDG PET/CT is an imaging study commonly used in cancer care and whole-body evaluations. It is ordered when doctors suspect a tumor, see an unclear mass on other scans, or need to stage known cancer.
Who should get FDG PET/CT done in Jodhpur?
Jodhpur's desert climate with extreme summer heat and hard water raising stone risk, ghee-rich Marwari diet driving diabetes and heart disease, and tourism and trade economy make regular preventive testing worthwhile citywide. Those who benefit most from FDG PET/CT include patients needing structural assessment that bloodwork cannot provide, and anyone under surveillance for a previously detected abnormality in Jodhpur.
What can FDG PET/CT help detect?
It also helps check treatment response and find recurrence. High uptake can result from cancer, infection, inflammation, recent surgery, or high blood sugar and some medications. A family history of cancer may prompt its use for precise assessment.
What do FDG PET/CT results mean?
Higher or positive results: A positive PET scan shows areas of increased metabolic activity that may indicate cancer, infection, or inflammation. Your doctor reads the value against the reference range on your report and your symptoms, and may repeat a borderline result to confirm it.
How often should FDG PET/CT be repeated?
For preventive screening with a normal baseline: annually for most adults above 35. For monitoring a known condition: at the interval your specialist recommends, typically every 3 to 6 months for active conditions and annually for stable, well-controlled ones.
What happens after your FDG PET/CT results are ready?
After the lab authorises your results, the report is uploaded to your GetVisit account and saved for future comparison. If anything falls outside the expected range, your doctor can advise whether it needs a repeat test, a lifestyle change, or a specialist opinion.
