Ct temp, in Navi Mumbai

A CT scan itself isn’t hot or cold — the scanner is neutral. If no contrast is used you typically feel nothing except the room’s temperature. When iodinated intravenous contrast is injected many patients report a brief warm or flushing sensation and sometimes a metallic taste; it usually lasts under a minute and is harmless. Ask staff about contrast risks if concerned.

A CT scan by itself doesn’t make you warmer, but many people report a brief sensation of warmth or flushing when iodinated contrast dye is injected. That feeling is usually harmless and short-lived; contrast can also cause a metallic taste. Serious reactions are rare—tell staff if you develop fever, difficulty breathing, or severe symptoms after the injection.

Connecticut typically records about 5–20 days per year at or above 90°F (32°C). Coastal towns commonly see roughly 5–10 such days, while inland and river-valley locations (Hartford, northwest CT) often experience about 10–20 days. Annual totals vary with summer heat waves and have trended upward in recent decades due to climate change.

Connecticut’s coldest recorded temperature is −32°F (−35.6°C), observed at Falls Village on February 16, 1943. This remains the statewide all-time low, recorded in the northwest highlands during an intense winter cold wave. Local lows can still vary considerably by elevation and microclimate, but no official Connecticut temperature has fallen below that −32°F record.

In Connecticut, winter typically lasts about three months: meteorologically December through February, and astronomically from the December solstice to the March equinox (roughly late December to late March). However, cold weather and snowfall often begin in November and can extend into April, so residents commonly experience winter-like conditions across a four- to five-month span depending on yearly variability.

You can usually have a CT scan if you have a common cold. Clinics may proceed unless you have high fever, severe cough that prevents lying still or holding your breath, or a contagious infection, in which case they may postpone or use extra precautions. Always tell the radiology team about symptoms, recent infections, and any pregnancy concerns so staff can decide timing and safety measures.
