What is a CT Scan IVP Test in Nagpur ?
What is CT Scan IVP?
A CT Scan IVP (intravenous pyelogram) is a special CT scan done after injecting contrast dye into a vein. It creates detailed pictures of the kidneys, ureters and bladder. It is non-invasive and shows internal structures directly, providing information that blood and urine tests cannot.
What does CT Scan IVP show?
This test shows anatomy, blockages, stones, and masses that a simple X-ray might miss. It helps find causes of blood in the urine, pain in the side, or repeated infections. Doctors use it to confirm kidney stones, look for tumors, check for urinary tract obstruction, and plan surgery or other treatments. The images guide treatment decisions and help monitor known conditions.
What symptoms suggest CT Scan IVP may be needed?
A doctor may recommend CT Scan IVP when a patient reports localised pain, swelling, or injury, a lump or restricted movement, or an abnormal finding on an earlier test that needs to be examined directly. GetVisit makes testing convenient in Nagpur, with lab slots and home collection in Besa, Dharampeth, and nearby areas.
How is CT Scan IVP done?
This is an imaging scan, not a blood or fluid test, so no sample is collected. A qualified radiographer positions you at an accredited GetVisit-partnered imaging centre in Besa or Dharampeth, Nagpur and captures the images in a few minutes. A radiologist reviews them and your report is made available through GetVisit.
How accurate is CT Scan IVP?
Image quality and interpretation are the two pillars of accuracy. GetVisit's accredited centres serving Besa and Dharampeth, Nagpur maintain modern equipment, and a qualified radiologist reviews each study before the report is issued.
Are there any risks to CT Scan IVP?
A standard X-ray uses a very low dose of radiation considered safe for diagnostic use; ultrasound uses sound waves and involves no radiation at all. If you are or might be pregnant, tell the centre in Besa or Dharampeth, Nagpur beforehand so the safest approach can be chosen. There is no needle and no recovery time.

An IVP CT (CT intravenous pyelogram) is a contrast-enhanced CT exam to evaluate kidneys, ureters and bladder.

Why Take a CT Scan IVP Test in Nagpur ?
When does a doctor order CT Scan IVP?
CT Scan IVP is an imaging study often ordered when patients have blood in urine, severe flank pain, recurrent urinary infections, or suspected obstruction. It is used to detect stones, tumors, anatomical problems, and trauma.
Who should get CT Scan IVP done in Nagpur?
Nagpur's growing population, extreme summer heat with high dehydration and kidney-stone risk, oil- and sugar-rich diet driving diabetes and heart disease, and seasonal monsoon infections make regular preventive diagnostic testing worthwhile for residents across the city. Imaging benefits patients with pain, swelling, a palpable lump, injury, or an abnormal earlier finding, as well as those monitoring a known condition. GetVisit helps residents of Pratap Nagar, Koradi Road, and across Nagpur book accredited imaging with clear pricing.
What can CT Scan IVP help detect?
Abnormal findings can come from infections, stones, tumors, scarring, or recent injury and some medications. A family history of kidney disease or urinary tract cancers may make this test more likely to be recommended.
What do CT Scan IVP results mean?
An imaging report describes what the scan shows and whether it is normal or reveals a specific finding. A qualified radiologist interprets the images, and your doctor explains what any finding means for you and whether a further test or treatment is needed. The FAQs below cover what this scan can and cannot show.
How often should CT Scan IVP be repeated?
For preventive screening with a normal baseline: annually for most adults above 35. For monitoring a known condition: at the interval your specialist recommends , typically every 3 to 6 months for active conditions and annually for stable, well-controlled ones.
What happens after CT Scan IVP results are ready?
Results are delivered to your phone and stored securely on GetVisit. Any value the laboratory flags as critical is escalated for urgent review, and for everything else your doctor or a verified specialist can guide the next step at your convenience.
