Corticotropin releasing factor (CRF test), in Ranchi

Medication:

For reproductive hormones (LH, FSH, oestradiol), collect on day 2 to 5 of your cycle unless told otherwise, and mention any hormonal contraceptive, which affects these values.

Fasting and diet:

No fasting is required. Eat and drink as usual, stay well hydrated, and simply avoid alcohol and heavy exercise in the 12 hours before your appointment.

Timing and slots:

An early slot works best, especially for fasting tests. Home collection is available across Argora, Bundu Road, and the rest of Ranchi.

What to bring:

Carry your test requisition, a government-issued ID, and any previous reports so results can be compared over time.

Single standalone test:

Corticotropin releasing factor (CRF test). Can be ordered individually or as part of a preventive health package on GetVisit.

When does a doctor order Corticotropin releasing factor (CRF test)?

Corticotropin releasing factor (CRF test) is part of HPA axis testing often ordered with ACTH and cortisol measurements. Doctors may request it when someone has unexplained weight gain, high blood pressure, easy bruising, fatigue, or symptoms of low cortisol.

Who should get CRF test done in Ranchi?

PCOS is increasingly diagnosed among Ranchi's young student and working women around Kokar, Morabadi and Kanke, where sedentary study routines and irregular eating contribute to hormonal imbalance. Hormone testing benefits women with irregular cycles, suspected PCOS, or fertility concerns, and men with low energy, low libido, or reduced muscle mass. In Ranchi, high occupational stress and irregular sleep among professionals in Kokar, Kanke, and similar areas are recognised contributors to hormonal imbalance.

What conditions can CRF test help diagnose?

The test helps tell whether problems come from the hypothalamus, pituitary, or an outside source. Abnormal results can come from tumors, chronic steroid use, severe illness, or certain medications, and a family history of endocrine tumors may make testing more important.

What do CRF test results mean?

Lower or negative results: Low cortisol can cause persistent fatigue and muscle weakness, unintentional weight loss and loss of appetite, dizziness or fainting from low blood pressure, abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting, salt cravings, and darkening of the skin (in primary adrenal failure). Your doctor reads the value against the reference range on your report and your symptoms, and may repeat a borderline result to confirm it.

How often should CRF test be repeated?

Frequency depends on the clinical question. For a fertility or PCOS work-up, tests are often timed to specific cycle days and repeated over one or two cycles. For patients on hormone therapy, monitoring follows the specialist's schedule, typically every few months until stable.

What happens after your CRF test results are ready?

Reports arrive digitally and remain in your GetVisit history, so repeat tests can be tracked over months and years. Review anything unexpected with your doctor before changing medication or lifestyle, and use the app to book a follow-up if needed.
