Who should get CK-MM done in Thane?

Thane's fast-growing population, monsoon flooding driving leptospirosis and dengue in Mumbra, Kalwa, and Diva, heavy commute and stress burden, and rising diabetes and cardiovascular rates make regular preventive diagnostic testing an essential health investment for residents across the city. Those who benefit most from regular CK-MM testing include adults above 40, people with sedentary lifestyles or BMI above 25, those managing chronic conditions, smokers, and anyone whose previous result was borderline. Early detection through regular testing in Thane is consistently more cost-effective than treating advanced disease.

What conditions can CK-MM help diagnose?

CK-MM helps diagnose rhabdomyolysis, inflammatory myositis, muscular dystrophy, and medication-related myopathy. Levels rise with strenuous exercise, injuries, infections, or certain drugs like statins. A family history of muscle disease may prompt testing.

What do CK-MM results mean?

Higher or positive results: High CK‑MM levels indicate skeletal muscle injury or stress. Lower or negative results: Low CK‑MM reflects reduced skeletal muscle enzyme rather than primary disease. Your doctor reads the value against the reference range on your report and your symptoms, and may repeat a borderline result to confirm it.

How often should CK-MM be repeated?

For preventive screening with a normal baseline: annually for most adults above 35. For monitoring a known condition: at the interval your specialist recommends , typically every 3 to 6 months for active conditions and annually for stable, well-controlled ones.

What happens after CK-MM results are ready?

Reports arrive digitally and remain in your GetVisit history, so repeat tests can be tracked over months and years. Review anything unexpected with your doctor before changing medication or lifestyle, and use the app to book a follow-up if needed.
