A positive chikungunya IgG indicates past exposure or infection: IgG antibodies typically develop weeks after infection and can persist for months to years, often suggesting some degree of immunity. It does not indicate an active or recent infection (IgM or PCR detect those). Interpret results with symptoms and timing, and see a clinician if you have current fever, severe joint pain, or diagnostic concerns.
