Results must be interpreted with symptoms, chest imaging and microbiology; further testing and specialist assessment are usually required.

The IgG antibody test for mold measures specific IgG antibodies in blood to indicate past or ongoing exposure to mold antigens. It can help identify immune sensitization linked to conditions like hypersensitivity pneumonitis or chronic mold exposure, but it does not diagnose acute allergy (IgE) or prove disease alone. Results must be interpreted with symptoms, exposure history, and imaging or lung tests.

Typical normal (negative) range for Aspergillus IgG is <40 U/mL. An IgG‑positive test indicates prior exposure to a specific pathogen or a response to vaccination, showing your immune system produced IgG antibodies. It usually appears weeks after infection and suggests some immune memory, but doesn’t guarantee current protection or how long immunity lasts.
