ARTERIAL DOPPLER LOWER LIMB ( RIGHT SIDE ), in Pimpri Chinchwad

A right lower limb arterial Doppler is a non-invasive ultrasound test that assesses blood flow in the arteries of the right leg using Doppler sound waves. It detects narrowing, blockages, or reduced circulation (peripheral arterial disease), measures flow velocity and waveform, and helps plan treatment. The painless bedside procedure takes about 15–30 minutes and may include ankle–brachial index measurements.

A Doppler for the right leg is a noninvasive Doppler ultrasound that uses sound waves to evaluate blood flow in the leg’s arteries and veins. It detects deep vein thrombosis, venous reflux, arterial blockages, and assesses circulation. The test is painless, uses gel and a probe, measures flow and velocity, and helps guide diagnosis and treatment of clots or peripheral arterial disease.

Costs vary by country and provider: under UK public healthcare it’s free. Private UK clinics typically charge £60–£300. In the United States an arterial Doppler lower‑limb test generally costs about $200–$1,000, depending on facility and insurance. In India private labs usually quote roughly ₹500–₹2,500. Confirm exact pricing and insurance coverage with the clinic before booking.

Normal arterial lower-leg Doppler findings include a triphasic waveform and an ankle–brachial index (ABI) of about 1.0–1.3. An ABI of 0.9–1.0 is borderline; ≤0.9 indicates peripheral arterial disease; ≥1.3 suggests noncompressible (calcified) arteries needing further assessment. Triphasic waveform has a sharp systolic upstroke, brief reverse and late diastolic forward flow. ABI = highest ankle systolic / highest brachial systolic.

A positive Doppler indicates abnormal or reduced blood flow—often from a clot, narrowing, or vascular compromise. Clinicians will confirm the finding, assess severity, and start treatment to prevent complications (for example, anticoagulation for deep vein thrombosis, thrombolysis, or surgical intervention for severe blockages). Follow-up imaging, monitoring, and specialist referral are typical to guide therapy and prevent pulmonary embolism or tissue ischemia.

Symptoms of a blocked artery in the leg include pain, cramping or aching in the calf, thigh or buttocks when walking (claudication), numbness or weakness, cold or pale/blue skin, slow-healing sores or ulcers, hair loss and brittle toenails, weak or absent foot pulse, and severe rest pain at night. Advanced cases can lead to tissue loss or gangrene.
