What to bring along:

Have your doctor's referral and photo ID ready; earlier reports for the same test are useful for tracking trends.

Single standalone test:

ANORECTAL MANOMETRY. Can be ordered individually or as part of a preventive health package on GetVisit.

When does a doctor order ANORECTAL MANOMETRY?

ANORECTAL MANOMETRY is usually ordered as part of a bowel function or pelvic floor evaluation when patients have chronic constipation, difficulty passing stool, fecal leakage, or unexplained rectal pain. It helps diagnose conditions like pelvic floor dyssynergia, nerve injury, or muscle weakness and guides biofeedback or surgical decisions.

Who should get ANORECTAL MANOMETRY done in Visakhapatnam?

Visakhapatnam's coastal climate and cyclone-season infection risk, industrial and port workforce, rice-heavy diet driving diabetes and heart disease, and high summer humidity make regular preventive diagnostic testing a sound habit for residents across the city. Those who benefit most from ANORECTAL MANOMETRY include patients whose triggers are unclear despite avoidance, and those being considered for immunotherapy. Identifying the allergen in Visakhapatnam makes avoidance and treatment far more effective.

What conditions can ANORECTAL MANOMETRY help diagnose?

The conditions diagnosable through ANORECTAL MANOMETRY depend on the specific markers the test measures. Results either confirm a suspected diagnosis, support a clinical suspicion requiring further investigation, or effectively exclude the condition the test was screening for. Abnormal results may come from childbirth injury, nerve disorders, medications, or structural problems, and family history of congenital bowel disorders can increase the need for testing.

What do ANORECTAL MANOMETRY results mean?

Results are interpreted in context, not in isolation. GetVisit shows your measured value next to the laboratory reference range, and your doctor reads it together with your clinical picture and any earlier results. See the FAQs below for what typical high or low values can mean for this test.

How often should ANORECTAL MANOMETRY be repeated?

For preventive screening with a normal baseline: annually for most adults above 35. For monitoring a known condition: at the interval your specialist recommends, typically every 3 to 6 months for active conditions and annually for stable, well-controlled ones.

What happens after your ANORECTAL MANOMETRY results are ready?

After the lab authorises your results, the report is uploaded to your GetVisit account and saved for future comparison. If anything falls outside the expected range, your doctor can advise whether it needs a repeat test, a lifestyle change, or a specialist opinion.
