An X‑ray femur AP and lateral are two standard radiographic views of the thigh bone: AP (anteroposterior) projects front-to-back and lateral provides a side view. Lateral (side) views — commonly frog‑leg or cross‑table lateral — show femoral head‑neck alignment, anterior/posterior displacement and subtle femoral‑neck fractures or effusions.
