Complete Urine Routine Analysis (CUE)

A complete urine routine analysis (CUE) is a laboratory screening that uses dipstick testing and microscopic examination to evaluate urine appearance, color, pH, specific gravity, and chemical markers such as protein, glucose, ketones, blood, bilirubin, nitrite, and leukocyte esterase. Microscopy assesses red/white blood cells, epithelial cells, casts, crystals and bacteria. It helps detect urinary tract infections, kidney disease, diabetes and liver disorders.

Test of cure is a follow-up laboratory or clinical check performed after treatment to confirm an infection has been eradicated. Timing and method depend on the condition—e.g., urea breath or stool antigen about four weeks after H. pylori therapy, and targeted testing for sexually transmitted infections (such as chlamydia in pregnancy or suspected persistent gonorrhea) at intervals recommended by clinicians.
